How much does it cost to work with you?

Fee transparency is very important to us. Your investment depends on the amount of your income, the complexity of the case and the underlying work items on our end. You will receive a fee estimate in advance. Please get in contact through our request forms.

Do I need to file an income tax return?

If you maintain a German tax residency (e.g. apartment) your worldwide income is subject to German income tax and you usually have an annual tax return filing obligation. Especially in cases where you merely gain income from employment that went via your employer´s payroll (i.e. no other income sources), there is a filing exemption. Nevertheless, the voluntary filing of a tax return can be beneficial as you may be entitled to a tax refund.

Is my foreign inheritance (estate) or gift subject to tax in Germany?

If you are considered a German tax resident, there is an obligation to disclose inheritances/gifts received within 3 months to the tax authorities. Additionally, inheritance/gift tax may be imposed if the value exceeds certain thresholds.

I am the managing director of a foreign entity, living in Germany. Are there German tax implications?

Yes. There is very likely a so-called (management) permanent establishment at hand, which exposes the foreign entity to German tax reporting and filing obligations.

Does a sale of shares in a company at nominal value give rise to tax implications?

Yes, several. Typically, we are looking at gift tax and corporate tax implications, especially if such transactions are not carried out at fair market value.
